Accessibility statement.

Every brand has a story, and everyone should be able to read this one. This statement describes how the site behaves, and what to do if something gets in your way.

How the site is built.

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice, that means:

  • Keyboard. Every link, button, portrait toggle and form field can be reached and used with the keyboard. A visible focus ring marks where you are: the brand’s red on the light and dark pages, off-white on the red chapter where red would disappear. Every page starts with a skip link. On the title page it goes to the first chapter, past the opening spread.
  • Screen readers. Pages use one heading per page as the title, headed sections below it, landmarks for the header, navigation, content and footer, and real text everywhere. No words are baked into images.
  • Photographs. Every photograph has a written description. The second, studio-light portrait of each person on the people page is marked as decorative because it repeats the first.
  • The portraits. On the people page and on the title page’s team spread, each portrait is a button that switches between the daylight and studio-light photographs. It works by tap, click and keyboard, and announces its state.
  • Motion. The title page uses scroll-driven motion. If your system asks for reduced motion, position changes are removed and only a short fade remains, and the studio-light effect becomes a simple switch. The supporting pages carry only a gentle fade as photographs come into view, which is also removed under reduced motion.
  • Contrast and size. Text is measured against its background to at least 4.5:1, and large headings to at least 3:1, on every ground the site uses. Type scales with the browser’s text size and the page reflows down to narrow phones without sideways scrolling.
  • Touch. Buttons, menu links, portrait toggles and form fields are at least 44 pixels tall. Links inside a sentence sit on the text line, with a full line of space around them.
  • Video. The one clip on the title page has no sound and never plays on its own: it moves only as you scroll, and shows a still frame under reduced motion.

Known limits.

  • The title page’s team spread splits each portrait along a moving line of light. It is decorative: the names and titles are in text under each portrait, and the people page shows the same portraits without it.
  • Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp and Google Maps are separate services with their own accessibility.
